There is an interesting article on South Africa at https://standpointmag.co.uk/issues/june-2019/cry-the-rapidly-crumbling-country/. It realistically portrays what happens when a government that has no interest in the welfare of its people, but only in using them as milk cows, rules a country for 25 years. A generation ago I predicted a bright future for South Africa on the hypothetical basis of higher education reaching the masses being manifested in intelligent application of the nation’s natural resources. Was I ever wrong!! The ANC government has simply been so comically and tragically corrupt, that the current state of the country was inevitable I guess.
Having been in South Africa for an extended period 4 times over the past 40 years, most recently last year, I have seen significant changes. On the positive side, I find the black population actually eager to engage me in conversation, whereas formerly there was an air of suspicion and standoffishness, even fear, that I didn’t see on my last visit.
What an amazing country South Africa could be with good government, instead of the venal, corrupt application of greed and self-serving power that today characterizes the ANC.
My advice to white South Africans: GET OUT!
