I don’t get the
kafuffle being raised over alleged connections between the White House and the
Russians. It seems to me that having Russia as a friend makes more sense than
having her as an enemy. Haven’t we had enough tension with the cold war that
has continued from the days of the Soviet Union to now?
War makes
profits for an elite few, but peace makes profits for many, just like profits make
peace for many. Trump knows this.
The tenacious propagation
of the suspicions that somehow Russians affected the outcome of the U.S.
election seems to me to be Democrat disparagement. Those people look like sore
losers.
There are always
war mongers in the USA ---- people who want the American public to believe that
the USA has enemies that threaten the Republic (or should that be "Empire"?). Realistically, what country could possibly threaten the
USA in any substantive military way? It serves the purposes of some to paint
Russia as the Enemy. Russia, with its GDP that is smaller than metro New York
City. Russia which has no navy capable of operating globally. Russia without
the ability to launch any substantial global airlift. How, pray tell, is Russia
going to invade the USA?
Let’s bellyache
about Russian annexation of the Crimea. Empress Catherine bought the region in
the 18th century to obtain a warm water port. Crimea, before the recent
annexation, voted 90% in favor of joining Russia. But, are we told this through
the pop news media?
Maybe one day,
the USA will decide that pissing away a trillion dollars a year on a largely
unjustifiable military is bad economics.
